Aosta – Pila Cable Car
Cable car that connects the city of Aosta to the Pila ski area, with two intermediate stations in Les Fleurs and in Plan Praz. The plant, in addition to a castle function, also takes on the role of Local Public Transport.

Dimensione Ingenierie is made up of a team of experienced engineers and professionals with over 1000 projects, including 450 related to cableway installations. Since 1999 the company has expanded its horizons of intervention by integrating in its field of activity also the architectural and urban planning, to ensure interdisciplinary flexibility and offer the market complete proposals and high quality standards. Over time, many studies of environmental integration and the design of service facilities for cableway transport systems have been developed, as well as studies on the development and rationalisation of new and existing ski resorts. In its gradual and constant growth, today Dimensione Ingenierie is composed of a team of 20 professionals, including design engineers, civil designers, mechanics and technicians and designers operating in different professional fields.
The plant consists of 2 trunks over a total length of over 5 km to connect the city of Aosta with the ski resort on which there are 10 other lifts: the first trunk from Aosta to the station of Les Fleurs, the second from Les Fleurs to Pila with an additional intermediate station in Plan Praz.
The new automatic lift system with 8-seater cabins and comfortable outdoor ski racks, a capacity of 2400 pers/h, built in 2008, replaces the 6-seater gondola built in 1988. Also assuming the function of TPL (local public transport), the vehicles travel through low-speed stations with easy boarding and disembarkation for skiers, pedestrians and people with reduced mobility.
The area of Les Fleurs has retained the pre-existing function of a double engine station with the possibility of using the systems also separately. The insistence areas of the stations and the supports of the line have remained substantially those of the original plant.
