Dolonne Cable Car

Newly built cable car that connects the hamlet of Dolonne to Plan Checrouit, used both as a recirculation system for the Dolonne slope and as a sheltering system towards the skiable domain of Courmayeur Mont Blanc.

The cable car system is a classic single-rope automatic cable car with closed vehicles, with a capacity of 8 people with skis inside to minimize embarkation and disembarkation problems and at the same time guarantee a high level of transport comfort.

The cable car has a transport potential of 2480 people/h at a maximum speed of 6 m/sec and with 40 vehicles in line.

The line was created with the positioning of 11 traditional type supports, each consisting of a central steel shaft.

The valley station integrates a multi-storey car park spread over 4 levels, capable of accommodating 313 cars, a private car park with a capacity of 34 cars, the offices of the Operator Company, the ticket office and services.

On the lower level, a large pedestrian tunnel allows access to the base of the stairs and elevators.

Three large-capacity lifts connect all levels to the boarding floor of the cable car.

The entire work was conceived with the aim of harmonizing the intervention with the surrounding urban and natural environment.

The multi-storey car park including the access and exit paths and the pedestrian path are “virtually” underground.

A pedestrian walkway that crosses the access road to the town of Dolonne connects the runway with the boarding floor of the cable car.

The mountain station has a fixed suspended engine and is located on the eastern side near the arrival area of the “Gigante” cable car in Courmayeur.

In addition to the vehicle warehouse, it houses the services and rooms dedicated to the electrical and mechanical maintenance technicians of the Operator Company.

This part of the work is also made to a large extent “underground” to minimize its impact on the environment.

Feasibility study of the connection between the Sorrento railway station and the village of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi. In order to ensure full urban integration and minimize the visual impact of the work within the urban fabric of Sorrento, the urban section was designed underground. The solution was made possible thanks to the hybrid rope-self-propelled system, which guarantees minimal oscillations in the rail section and is therefore compatible with tunnel segments.

Skyway Monte Bianco

Defined as the “eighth Wonder of the World”, SkyWay Monte Bianco was designed by Dimensione Ingenierie, which also took care of the construction supervision. The cable car system consists of two segments: Pontal d’Entreves- Pavillon and Pavillon- Punta Herbronner, where, on the iconic Terrazza dei Ghiacciai, it is possible to enjoy a spectacular view that embraces all the Western Alps.

Genova – Forte Begato

Connection via hybrid cable-self-propelled system between the port of Genoa and Forte Begato, with an intermediate station. The first section presents the challenging characteristics of an urban segment, and involves the overflight of buildings of considerable height within the Lagaccio district and the installation of line supports with a height greater than 83m; while the second section has characteristics similar to the route of a traditional mountain cableway.

Aosta – Pila Cable Car

Cable car that connects the city of Aosta to the Pila ski area, with two intermediate stations in Les Fleurs and in Plan Praz. The plant, in addition to a castle function, also takes on the role of Local Public Transport.

Col Checrouit – Arp

Final project for the replacement of the current Youla and Arp cable cars in the Courmayeur Mont Blanc area with a “to and fro” cableway system that connects Col Checrouit to the Arp Crest.
